To get a broad understanding of trends impacting our fashion and retail industry, usually I reach out to Street Fashion trough social media so I can have an idea of what’s going on outside.
It is funny how fashion trends come back around. How many times have I heard my mother say “oooh, I had one just like that”! Because we live in an era of fast fashion, direct-to-consumer, and Amazon, I think retail environment is particularly challenging. Not only do brands have to adjust to changing consumer trends and preferences but also has to be “on trend” to satisfy their demanding consumers.

GLOBAL TRENDS
Fiddler Caps and Check Prints
Beloved by boys and it girls alike, fiddler caps (also known as cadet hats) are one of the season's most popular trends around the world. These slouchy caps give to our outfit a dose of tomboyish charm. Personally I’m in love with this accessory because is very stylish, fresh, and helps me a lot with my messy hair days.
Another hot piece around the world is the check print. From Facebook to Instagram, from blogs to magazines, check print is everywhere! There’s something about the checkers print juggernaut hitting the shop aisles and fashion world that lures a certain appeal. When a certain fashion trend becomes overly popular, some people tend to stay away from it but that’s not the case with this trend. As you might have noticed the most popular piece is the overside blazers, so if you don’t have yet, here is an excuse to go shopping during the next days.
EMERGING TRENDS
Tropical Palms, Metallic Booties, Plastic garments, and Floral Suits:
Here are my favorites trends so far:
- The tropical palm leaf is a really popular print -- it's everywhere, from home decor, to footwear, to clothing!
- Besides classic styles, this fall you need booties that will make a statement. The metallic colored pieces are among the biggest trends so far.
- Plastic fashion started trending in 2017, but the new year is clearly going to take it up a notch. So clear, so different, so honest ...clearly, I love it!
-When it comes to wearing floral prints, it can be quite an art to be able to pull off such a feat. However, this stylish trend can give a fresh image to our look.
